EVENTRATION

Eventration represents the passage of organs in the peritoneal cavity (epiploon, small intestine, colon) through a hole gained during a consecutive abdominal trauma, an accident or surgery (most frequently). It can therefore be located anywhere in the abdominal wall. Postoperative outcomes (about 95% of all outcomes) result from a scarring defect in muscle and aponevrotic structures that resolve at the end of the interventions. The treatment of the event is surgical only!
Since the event, as well as the hernia, may be complicated at any time, the surgical indication of such a condition is firm.
Mesh has the role of strengthening the abdominal wall (about 6 weeks is embedded by the body).
The laparoscopic procedure for the treatment of the incisions the treatment can be done laparoscopically, with the fixation at the wall of nets that do not adhere to the intraabdominal organs, by means of special spiral clips (resorbable or non-resorbable) and some wires passed through the whole abdominal wall, so that the mesh anchorage is durable. The intervention is carried out in this case by means of special instruments designed for such a maneuver, these being long, thin, called Protack or Absorbatack.
The advantages of laparoscopy in the event are numerous, from the cosmetic ones, to those related to pain and postoperative recovery (much diminished due to laparoscopy itself!).
